The time came this week to bid an extremely fond farewell to Diamond’s founders, Sue Wright and Peter Callahan, as they embarked on their official retirement from the business.

Sue and Pete established Diamond back in 2007 and, along with their steadily growing team, built the company into one of the most highly respected and regarded dispersions manufacturers in the world. One of their proudest business achievements was the honour of receiving a prestigious Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade back in 2012.

Colleagues, suppliers, friends and family joined Sue and Pete at the Chimney House on Kelham Island in Sheffield for a very special party to celebrate Sue and Pete’s work and the Diamond team.

Guests were treated to a Champagne reception followed by a variety of homemade pies, parmesan mash & fresh vegetables and a dessert of baked cheesecake with berries. Entertainment came in the shape of a trademark Diamond quiz showcasing digital textile printing prowess and challenging participants to match famous quotes with their famous owner.

Rob Lawson gave a short speech thanking Sue and Pete for their commitment and dedication to the business and presented them with a very special gift from the Diamond team along with a card signed by everyone. Sue and Pete also spoke about their Diamond journey, regaled several stories and thanked each and every person involved in the company’s rise and rise to success.
